The Teacher & Mom Behind More Than Just Math Blog

I am so glad you are here because I love connecting and collaborating with educators around the globe.  I am passionate about making lessons for my students that involve more than just math… meaning that I strive to incorporate real world, challenging activities that encourage students to become problem solvers while building communication and reasoning skills.  While I want my students to be challenged to reach their full potential, I also desire for them to see the relevance of the content and develop a hunger to continue growing. At the same time, I focus on developing the whole child because education goes beyond building knowledge.   Our class motto focuses on becoming better mathematicians, but also better people each day because educating the future of our world should always include… more than just math.

I hold a Mathematics and Social Studies Middle Childhood Education degree as well as a graduate degree in Mathematics Education.  In my fifteen years of teaching, I have taught math in 5th, 7th, and 8th grades.

After school, I am blessed to come home to the best husband and boy/girl twins who are in preschool.  I love creating learning opportunities and watching them grow and explore the world around them. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
